Please, please, PLEASE, don't say how I shouldn't do it and all that **** I just want to know how, the REALISTIC dangers, and how to clean it after. Thanks in advance c:

Oh, I also have the jewelry already I just need to know like after I push through the safety pin or whatever if I should immediately put it in or wait?

If you really must have the piercing then you should go to a professional to get it done. The septum is what stops your nose collapsing and looking like a boxer's or rugby players, if you damage it too much it could cause all sorts of problems.
You really would be an idiot to do it yourself.
If it ain't broke don't fix it. Why let everyone know you have an identity problem anyway.
Surely it's going to take quite a lot of force to get a safety pin through your septum. You must have a high pain threshold.
Evian my love....I am no expert on woman's nasal adornments, but i don't think that it goes through the cartilage, but through the skin below (columella).

However, i stand to be corrected.
Ok be really careful, naturally I would advise you not to do it but you will try anyway. Ok the septum is cartilage, I have pierced one my self (many moons ago and would never try again) It was extremely painful for the recipient and in fact she passed out twice. Due to the cartilage it is really hard to get a needle through, if the septum becomes infected you are in deep deep sh!t!! you will need to heat you needle to disinfect it but remember you still need to hold on to it. put the bar in immediately or you not get it in at all, baring in mind the nose is full of bacteria and bugs you will need to keep it really clean I would advise at least twice a day, but a reasonably log bar in so you can slide it from one side to the other or rotate it for cleaning. I would strongly advise not doing this but if you do, be prepared for one hell of a time and ensure someone is with you. Crazy person!!! Ive done some crazy things with piercing myself :-))
Prince Albert ratter?
Actually sqad, you are correct! either way it is very painfull.
Yes Zac and an ampallang :-)
Zacs crosses his legs and winces.
lol Zac, it was a while before I could cross my legs.
Can't say I'm all that up on my trendy piercings but I've spent the past 5 minutes pinching my septum and I've come to the conclusion that even though its just through flesh, you'd still have to be completely off your rocker.

Besides, it might just look like you've always got massive boogers.

It really isn't a good idea to self pierce. If you are really intent though then you would need to buy some specialist things just to make it safe and reduce the risk of infection (the first that springs to mind is the need for a hollow needle, don't pierce anything with a safety pin).

This wikihow deals with a normal nose piercing but the directions are a more or less the same for the septum. You do need to get the correct clamp as you will need to put a lot of force into it to get through the septum and want to avoid stabbing your nose on the other side once it pops through.

The pain will be intense and much worse than if a professional does it for you.

After all is said and done and considering the purchases you would need to make you will probably find it safer, cheaper and less painful if you visited a licensed piercer.

Good luck and let us know how you get on
ADepressedTeen. You user name says it all. I just looked at your last question about anorexia. You seem to have quite serious problems. Please go see a doctor, don't mutilate yourself. Can you speak to your parents or friends about your feelings? There is something wrong somewhere, doesn't feel right.
I'm currently an owner of a septum piercing and would never do it again! If you do it wrong it can collapse the cartilage in your nose and if its not that you could get a hideous infection which you wont thank yourself for.
When i had mine done the piercer looked for a "sweet spot" its in between the cartilage and the bottom of your nose, if you cant feel it chances are its an even worse idea to pierce it yourself.
For one thing piercers use needles that have a plastic tubing over it so they can pull the needle out and leave the tube in while they get a good hold on the jewellery and put it in place and pull the tubing out once its in place.
Also the jewellery will probably be titanium and alot of body jewellery you can buy on the high street will be surgical steel which ive always been advised not to use.
I know its not what you asked but think of it long term do you want a weird cabbage nose if you do it wrong?
right then aDepressedTeen, next week - should you choose to accept it - AB brings you irezumi with biros

Never rotate a fresh piercing, you need to wait at least a few weeks til the skin loosens (Sorry ratter), your piercing is a foreign object. Dont remind your body its there. I have maintained surface piercings without them growing out just from not rotating and prannying about with them. Whatever you use to pierce your nose is not gonna be hollowed out like a piercing needle, so your nose is gonna swell up like a balloon. How about a vertical labret, they;re lush :P
Mmmm, lovely. You'll look like a bull!
