Anxious, tense and nervous!

Can anyone recommend a just-in-time herbal remedy (that works!) for getting rid of anxiety? I am normally a very confident person but I have been made redundant and I am currently attending job interviews. I am very anxious and I am worried I will fluff interviews or bottle out because of a pounding heart, butterflies and feeling stressed out. I seem to feel like this all the time at the moment and I need something to chill me out!  It's really starting to get on my nerves (pardon the pun!) I thought about going to the docs to get some beta blockers or something as I can't eat or sleep as I feel so anxious and very hyper like I have had buckets of caffeine. (not depressed BTW, quite excited about a change of direction!) Thanks

I used 'Calms' tablets from the chemist when I had my driving tests. Take them for a couple of days before and they work a treat
Try Rescue Remedy.  My mum takes it for about a week before she's due to fly anywhere and finds it really helps.  I've also taken it in the run-up to job interviews and when I know a load of hassle is coming up in work and it seems to chill me out a bit.
I used Rescue Remedy last year when I was made redundant and attending interviews. A few drops on the tongue (it tastes a little weird) 30 mins before hand helped me loads.
I too advise you to take Rescue Remedy. Or something simular called Bach Flower Remedies; which come in a small bottle with a little tube so you can drop a dose of 4 drops on to your tongue whenever required! You can find these products in Boots and they cost around 5 or more each (well worth the money!) I speak from the voice of experience as I often use them if I'm about to give a presentation for my uni course or I've got loads of work to do etc... Please don't go down the route of medications from the doctor; they're very addictive and can make things much worse for you in the long run... Also, for a much more natural approach visit www.hypnosisdownloads.com, here you can downlaod and burn to CD hypnosis tracks that will help you deal with your anxious time.. Even perhaps consider asking your doctor to refer you to a hypnotherapist; its 100% safe and has no side-effects (other than re-training the sub-conscious part of your mind to relax more freely). And remember all anxious times ar only ever time based, so hope you're able to relax more freely very soon!
Aspen is very good (similar to rescue remedy but more localised).  In the long term, relora is good taken three times a day
Also try cutting out as much sugar as possible as it can make you hyper and jittery which adds to the anxiety
