UTI partner treatment?

Hi all.I have been put on Trimethoprim 200mg for a urinary tract infection.I have a long term boyfriend who I am sexually active with.I have two questions;should I avoid sex with him until I have finished my antiobiotics and should he also see his doctor and get treated?I didnt ask at the surgery and have googled it but no foud any answers.

Are we to assume that the UTI is of STD origin?

If so which STD.?

From your post.I would guess it is NOT of STD origin in which case you can have sexual intercourse with your boyfriend whenever you choice and he need not got to see his GP

Nope its not from an STI I think its whats also known as honeymoon cystitis as I only see him a few times a week(not through choice its a long story).Thanks for the advice x
OK...thanks. Then no need for BF to be checked by his doctor and as for the "love making"...........all systems GO.
