I am sat here crying, not for any huge reason. Just feeling quite upset with myself at the moment. I am in a quandry with weight issues. I have got myself in a rut and just don't know what to do. I know its all my fault anyway, getting into this situation but can't seem to get my head around any kind of diet. Sorry if i sound stupid.

You don't sound stupid hollie - not at all.
aw hollie, sounds like youre on a downer tonight, whats up?

heres a {{hug}} for you x
Hollie you dn't need to beat yourself up like this, we all have bad days with a diet. I do, I still have to cook for Oh, I try to do this quite normally, whatever meat I cook for him I will sometimes have a salad with it, but not always, I give in quite often and have veg and spuds as well. But it's okay,m no hard and fast rules.
have you got much to lose? have you lost any so far, or can you just not get going and its getting you down?
Hollie there are times when everything seems so hard and a mountain to climb - often we expect far too much of ourselves and see each set back as a failure. It isn't it just proves we are human. Take a step back write a plan and try to stick to it but do not deprive yourself. Set small goals and try to be happy as the wonderful person you are.

Well said mamyalynne.
OH hollie,

Your not on your own I am 3 stone over weight and have been trying for ages to lose it, don't despair its not that important!!!!
How old are you Hollie? x
me too trt,
its soo easy to put it on, yet sooooo damn hard to get it off isnt it!
on the whole its not so much what i eat, its that i dont exercise enough, thats my downfall,
do you do any exercise hollie? and whats your eating habits like, are there any areas where you can tweak it a bit? do you comfort eat? i do, plus im a late night snacker, which isnt good, due to the nocturnal hours im keeping at the min :o/
i hope you didnt go to bed upset hollie..?
tomorrow is another day! a new start!.... so come back and chat with us again then, yeah?
we understand how youre feeling at the min, weve all been there, so im sure the kind folk on here will be more than happy to help, give their tips and ideas, aswell as support, to help get you on your way!
so cheer up, eh!, try not to feel sad now, take your tears tonight as being a positive, and tell yourself youre now ready to face and tackle the problem!... youll do it!... we just need a kick up the bum sometimes, to get us into gear, dont we! :o) x
. . . and well said looobylooo too !!
Quite right, looby :)
hollie - there are many options available to you, you just picked the wrong one tonight (((HUG))) I hope you get some good sleep now and that tomorrow's dawn is brighter for you. Sweet dreams x
lots of very understanding people here hollie,we've all been in the same situation of weight or some other problem we have to overcome. you're not a bit stupid, weight,or other problems creep on slowly, but suddenly seem to overcome us. Sometimes just the smallest achievement can make a difference though, and make us feel that bit better and get a bit of self confidence going! Don't worry about a diet, just determine to eat less and walk more.good luck x
Do we know Hollie? Why do we assume it's that she is unable to lose weight?
Sorry I meant to add Hollie that the first step IMO is to love yourself who you are and the way you are. As others have said, be as kind to yourself as you would be to someone you love who is in your situation.
hollie forget diets for a moment...
1. In a rut... when you are depressed getting out of that rut is a step that seems too hard to face... the trick is positive baby steps...
2. The weight won't go away until you are ready to tackle it... so for now just try to make one positive step to help feel a bit more in control.... maybe have one extra portion of veggies or fruit a day and one less biscuit or piece of cheese or whatever your 'fat foods' are
3. Change something small bout yourself... maybe give yourself a manaicure a couple of times a week so your nails become lovely.... it means you change a little thought ie that you are a person who is worth a little time for herself.....
4. Look in the mirror for a few minutes every day perhaps as you do your hair and say I am an amazing person... it wll feel daft at first but little by little your brain will start to register what you are saying and you will start to feel better
5. get a little more exercise...put a great track on and dance for a few minutes....walk round the block ...small steps until you feel you can do more
6. talk to friends, talk to us, as others have said loads of us have been there... depressed, fighting weight problems... you are not alone

Remember You are not stupid.. next time you hear yourself saying that imagine I'm shouting in your ear...'Stop that right now!!!!!' and look for a little positive

Thanks for your support everyone. Looobylooo.....i do have a hell of alot to lose. I did manage to lose a stone with Slimming World but just got so fed up with the diet that it all went boobs up and have now nearly put the stone back on. It's not like i can't lose the weight, it's just sticking to it. When i was at SW, i went walking everyday and really started feeling so much fitter and could walk up to 2 - 3 miles without hardly getting out of breath but now i am back to being breathless after doing a small bit of walking. I just need to get my head around it but its just getting started. Im only 25 and feel like i am missing out on allsorts.
Firstly, Hollie, you need to get a grip. I mean that in the nicest way possible, and I do understand exactly how you are feeling. The problem is, getting so down about the situation and ending up crying, will not help the matter whatsoever. In fact, it will probably push you the other way, in that you'll end up comfort eating to make yourself feel better!
Unfortunately, only you can decide when the time is right for you to do something about it... and it sounds like it's right now.
The good news is, you're young. You have a lot on your side. It's a lot easier to lose weight whilst you're under the age of 30, and you have seen that by already loosing a stone at Slimming World.
You need to take a deep breath and tell yourself this is it. No more yo-yo dieting and no more putting your body at risk from things like diabetes and heart disease.
Find out when your next SW meeting is, and get yourself down there. The first meeting is always the hardest, but once you've got there, you'll realise you are not alone.
I'd happily sit here and give you loads of advice on what to eat and what not to eat, but I really do think you need more than that... i think you need the support of other people, which you will get from SW or a Weight Watchers class.

There is a very good support group on here, in the weight loss section. Use it!

Good luck and I wish you well :-)
hi holiie,
how are you feeling today? a little better i hope :o)
oh dont i know it when youve got loads to lose, and how it all seems so very daunting, feeling youve got to conquer it All in one go! and if you dont you feel a failure!
so like others have said, just take little steps at a time, thats the best way.
get a food diary and write everything down that you eat, plus jot your moods down and how youre feeling in yourself, along the way, too.
make a real effort with your food intake, reducing your portion sizes, get a smaller plate even.
losing weight isnt about being on a 'diet' is it - we can all do that. initially losing a few pounds, depriving ourselves of the food we love. but we only end up craving them even more and giving in to temptation, going on a mad ol binge! ending up feeling really disappointed with ourself and dipping us into a low state of mind again, resulting in comfort eating... tut, its a vicious circle intit?!
sooo, breaking it down into small achievable goals - say half stone goals will be much easier. and maybe make a chart, and colour in each pound you lose each week. it makes it exciting then, seeing your progress there infront of you.
and try and do a little bit of exercise each day too, just 15 or so mins will help.
i too am allergic to exercise lol, but im trying to do a bit.
have a look on youtube for 'leslie sanson' or get yourself one of her dvds off ebay, like i did.
she shows you how to walk/exercise in the comfort of your living room. i think shes excellent for the likes of me and you. its all easy stuff, but it certainly gets you moving and puffing!
(look for the 15 minute vid clips though. some are only a couple of mins long, which wont be any good as theyre too short)
and each time you do a little stint, jot it down in your food diary book aswell. you might even begin to like keeping a diary, adding to it throughout the day, keeping you motivated.
(ive always kept one whenever ive been on one of my 'im going to do it this time' endevours! lol, and found it very interesting and helpful to look back on)
hey, heres me saying all this hollie, and im probably in just the same boat as you! lol.... but, its kind of giving me a bit of a gee-up too to get started again.(i need to anyway, as i have a hospital appointment at the beginning of dec where i will be weighed etc! ;o/ )
youre young, your skin is still nice and supple, so tackling your weight now is the best time. dont waste any more time sitting in, missing out on life. youll look back in years to come and think 'ohhhhh.... if only..'
so, c'mon, do it quietly, no need to tell those around you if you dont want to. nothing worse than someone keep asking how youre getting on, and how you shouldnt be eating that! is there lol. theyre only trying to be helpful we know ... but... ;o)
and see it as a long term healthy eating thing, not a short fix diet thing. remember smaller portions and still have a treat, but not as many, and make sure you savour it! lol.
oh and get walking with leslie! its the first exercise video that ive ever thought 'yeah i can do this!' and even quite enjoy doing it!
so good luck hollie, you can do it, and once youre in the swing itll all get easier.
oh and what a thrill it is isnt it, when you start to look and feel better and your clothes start to feel looser, and people start to pass comment! oooh, nothing more rewarding is there! :o))
hey, im sorry ive rabbited on sooo much! but its a thing thats close to my heart, and i know how it can get you down, so i just wanted to try and help, thats all :o)
good luck flower! keep us posted! x
Hollie I recently went to a 5 day boot camp. It was good for lots of reasons. Showed that to eat what they gave us and exercise during the day does work. Did talks on suitable meals and snacks to keep the metabolism going. I lost 6.2 lbs and my daughter 8.2 lbs. I have recently started an exercise class as I am no good at self motivation. Hope you are feeling a bit better.
