Swelling above left collarbone

I just discovered last night the area above my collarbone is swollen not like a lump but a swell about the size of the palm of my hand I dont have any other symptoms should I have this checked out or just wait and see if it goes in a few days thought it might have gone this morning but it hasnt.

If it were me I would wait until midweek and if it was still swollen book a GP appointment.
The big question is.....is it a lymph node?

From your description I would say that it isn't and is almost certainly likely to be an exaggerated pad of fat and hence no big deal.

If it is a lymph node then it may well be a sign of many systemic disorders and if you can feel it's edges, is mobile and firm to the touch then it is a lymph node and I would suggest that you see your GP

I don't think it is a lymph node, so don't worry.

thank you squad thats very helpful it doesnt feel mobile or firm so thats good its made me relax a bit didnt want to go google cause I would only end up reading to much into it so cheers.
No problem....it is a common finding ..a pad of fat above the clavicle.
