One child law in China

I assume that the authorities cannot legislate against twins, or other multiple births, can anyone confirm this?

Your are correct in that it can't be legislated against. In fact there is no 'one child law', but there is a 'one birth law'. This allows for multiple births.

thank you - this seems more workable - BUT couldn't you increase your chances of multiple births with the help of shady fertility treatments etc. and do you think this might occur - or is it a bit far fetched?
I'm not sure how readily available that sort of thing is to the Chinese, but if it exists, then I would suggest  that it would definitely be used by some people.
