Is it possible to have a delayed allergic reaction?

I was doing some weeding (mostly stinging nettles) on Saturday morning and today my forearms are red and itchy. There are little lumps in the itchy area.

I've had an allergic reaction to a plant before and had to take steroids for a week but it doesn't seem anywhere near as bad this time so is it likely to be an allergic reaction?

Yes you ca....it can either be immediate or delayed and yours is clearly delayed.........get some Phenergan cream or Anthisan cream from the chemist and apply twice daily.

Thanks Sqad! I had assumed that having had at least 3 showers since then meant it might have been something else but it seems I was right with the delayed reaction.
