Why do Catholic and Orthodox people have the same holidays, but at different dates? For example, Im Orthodox - and our Easter is not for another 2 weeks. Same with Christmas - Catholic on the 25th Decemeber, Orthodox on the 7th January...

The Orthodox church did not accept the move from the Julian Calendar to the Gregorian. This means they are approx 12 days different

Easter is the first Sunday after the first full moon after the spring equinox, but Orthodox take it to be the full moon as seen fron Jerusalem, whereas other churches use a "notional" moon which makes the calculations easier.
