I can’t comment on facial hair removal by laser (fortunately, especially as I’m female) however I have had it done on other parts of the body. I got great results from it and if I could afford to, I’d have all unwanted hair removed this way. Make sure the practitioner is fully qualified and insured. Definitely go for an initial consultation, where they will do a patch test, they’ll also be able to give you a good assessment as to whether your hair/skin type will respond well to the laser. It did hurt, exactly like someone snapping an elastic band against the skin, but it only remained sore for the rest of the day. They do recommend having at least 6 sessions and to be honest, I would imagine that would be a minimum for facial hair so it can be costly, but well worth it.
