this march just gone i went on holiday on a cruise and on the first day i fell over on to some rusty metal from an old metal frame and from what looked like an old bridge but without the wood just the frame.

This was on the beach and i decided to go and wonder to see what was on the other side of this pier and you had to go underneath, well any i was walking along the frame and i didnt realise the last bit had no flat surface and i was about to put my foot on it and it would of gone straight through it but luckily i put my hand instead to stop myself.

And well i hurt my hand and had a massive gash in between my thumb and my index finger, it was proper bleeding obv and i ended up havin to get stitches and pieces of rust taken out and it disinfectant and what not because of the rusty pieces inside.

And i couldnt use my hand to grip anythin or even cut my damn food for like 2 weeks and well since then it healed up fine part from i had a numbness/no feeling at the beginning part of my thumb that gradually went away after a month. And finally its been 3 months or so now and i still cannot grip anything heavy i mean i work for a DIY store and it requries me to lift heavy things, i can lift them no problem because you only use ya fingers really but wenevr i go to grip something or hold on to something heavy it proper hurts, i mean i can't even use a bloody squirt bottle to spray some cleaner stuff on me car coz it hurts.

basically i just wanna know shud it still be hurtin like this, how long does it take to heal or shud i consult a doctor

I would consult a doctor, it shouldn't be such a pain by now. You may need some physio on it?!
Definately see a doc Rocky - Its best too he makes a record of it on your records. As one gets older you could have probs with it because its vulnerable.
It may need an exray too.

Hand injuries can take a long time to heal, especially if there's been nerve damage. My friend's son was stabbed between the thumb and index finger and it took a year before he could use his hand fully.
I agree with Karen........it is going to take a long time for the pain to resolve and taking Ibuprofen 600mgms will help to resolve the issue.
There may be a foreign body still in the tissue, but by the sound of the injury and the treatment that you received, that would be extremely unlikely.
Be patient.
