have been having a problem urinating for 3 weeks now, feels like I'm desperate to go every hour or so and only a little dribble comes out. Started getting severe pains in kidney area last week, ended up in A and E who said kidneys, liver and pancreas all functioning normally, and gave me Tramadol. Went to the doctor who says my bowel is swollen, and possibly blocked and that could be pushing on my bladder creating the urinary problems. Told me to take FyboGel. Was passing stool's once a day before doctors visit. Have started the fybogel (4 days now) and have not passed stools for 4 days, and the urination has almost completely dried up (literaly a dribble/teaspoon amount). Getting quite worried now and the doctor's are getting fed up of me being down there every couple of days!! What can I do to help? The doc told me to stay on the Tramadol and also gave me an anti-spasmodic (buscopan) to take alongside the fybogel...... Please help!!! Starting to get very worried about this now....

You are entitled to ask for a second opinion. Do you have a walk-in centre near to you? You could go there, saves troubling A&E - if you are not going to the loo either way, it doesn't sound right at all.
How old are you mummyhodge? as boxtops says don`t take no for an answer. Increase your fluid intake and fybogel doesn`t help everyone, but why would a bowel be swollen if you weren`t constipated?

doctors given me a stronger diuretic and told me to stop the buscopan. i'm 24.
Well see how you go over weekend, Buscopan can cause urinary retention.
A number of years ago my urine stopped altogether causing my kidneys to fail. My gp sent me to hospital where they diagnosed Gout. It caused kidney stones to form which blocked the tubes. Ask your gp if you can have a scan of your kidneys to check for stones, I am now on Allopurinol for the rest of my life - haven't had any trouble with my water works since.
