Empty AUDIO_TS Folder following conversion of AVI to DVD

I have been trying to convert 3 AVI files to DVDs, the first attempt was by using Free DVD Creator, the 2nd attempt I used AviDvd. On both occasions the generated AUDIO_TS folder was empty. It almost goes without saying that the resulting video has no sound track and yes, each track had sound before the conversion.

Even more annoying is that the soundtrack from the original AVI files now sounds like someone has stuck a piece of paper in the spokes of a bike!

Any ideas where I go from here?

DVD Standard requires this empty folder (AUDIO_TS)

The soundtrack and menu audios is inside the VOB files.
A good program will do a perfect job. I would suspect the original source file or the free software.

Best free software is DVDFlick .. It vwill take some time to convert though.
Best Paid for is VSO ConvertXtoDVD.

Check original file spec with MediaInfo (also free)

AlBags - you're a star!!! Thank you for the explanation and likely reason for failure, together with the suggestion of using DVDFlick.

I downloaded it and made the first copy very late last night - and the resultating copy works a treat, complete with audio.

My sincere thanks once more. This website has some real cool people on it!
No probs at all ... I do a lot of DVD work, so I know what's around ; )
Cheers. Al
