Hi, I have lost hearing in my left ear since an intense tooth ache, nothing but antibiotics cured the pain, but it made me lose hearing! I struggle to hear whats going on around me, and thought of having a gromit, is it expensive treatment or any cure?

One must determine if this is a nerve deafness or a middle ear deafness and this could be done by a GP but better by hearing tests from an ENT specialist.

Nerve deafness,,,then this is a big deal and the hearing may not return.

Middle Ear deafness, may be caused by fluid, pus or mucous in which case treatment would clear this up and your hearing would return.

Without a definitive diagnosis, further comment is fruitless.
