I have been waking up with aches in my cheek bone and top of my head ( not headaches) . Could this be arthrtic? I have achey fingers and toes as well but the face is more painful. Its like over stretched violin strings inside my face.

Too brief a story.

How old are you?How long as this been going on for? I presume you are female :-)?
Are you on any medication?

Hi sqad. I have had these pains on and off for 30 +years. I am now 65 and just recently started with the aches in fingers and toes. I saw GP who looked at my knuckles and said rhuematoid arthritis, but did not suggest further action. Bumps come and go on my knuckles. The big toe joint is painful and I rub on ibuprofen gel as well as take tablets. However, the facial pain is long standing . I was told that sometimes nothing can be done for it. Its not pain from the trapped nerve - its all over my skull and comes and goes intermittantely. Tablets help.
Right...so no definitive diagnosis eh!

Ask your GP for a referral to a Rheumatologist.

Facial pain....not arthritic in origin.
