Does anyone have any pearls of wisdom about how to deal with hot flushes? I get one about once an hour and it lasts about 3-4 minutes. All I want to do is tear off my clothes and stick my head in the nearest freezer. This is not a happy thing at work or in the middle of Sainsbury's!

HRT is an answer. However, if you cant get that, or if your doctor stops you having it, I found Black cohosh is excellent. Zipvit do a formula with liquorice, and it includes a few other things as well for same condition. This is not expensive and can be ordered online.
I found Flash Fighters from Holland and Barret good.

My doctor doesn't agree with HRT, but I don't want to go down that route anyway. Will definitely try the other things though, thank you. Are you a 'sufferer' ?
I had a few symptoms super and found that HRT worked very well. (took it for some years). One day I went to the doctor and it was a locum who said you had this for too long so I am not giving you any more...... Back to square one. I tried everything going out there, and for me the cohosh was the one thing (and it is just a herb) that made a difference. I had a friend who was in trouble so I gave her some cohosh and she is now a convert. Not everything is right for everybody but I hope you find what works for you.
Carry a misting spray around with you if you can,or try the stuff in the can that apparently cools well!!!
