Helo,

Does or has anyone here suffer from sciatic nerve pain??
I'm 24 wks pregnant and my lower back started to hurt friday night. It was tolerable on Saturday, but yesturday it hurt to get up even to start walking and once I got going I was ok but it still hurt. this morning it has spread down my bum and to the back of my left thigh. It hurts to sit, lie and stand!!
Can anyone suggest anything to make it better??
I'm now off work for the time being and my doc has told me to rest and take paracetamol when needed!! I don't really want to take paracetamol, they don't really make much of a difference.
Darling partner just got home with a body pillow for me to help me sleep, I don't know of anything else that can be done.

Help!!!!

I do suffer from sciatic pain, but I'm not pregnant so my advice is probably not all that helpful.

Many times it can be "walked off". The opposite of what you would think, as we are often told to "rest".

The rest of what I do will certainly not be for you right now........pain killers!

I truly sympathise. Just try to walk it off where you can.

I had sacroiliac hip disfunction when I was pregnant and it is a similar pain - I suggest you google that and see what you think. In the meantime, you need to make sure that you are lying on a soft surface and that you take it easy. Also don't carry anything too heavy especially on one side of your body at a time. Good news is that it got better almost immediately after the baby was born.
