Just wanted to know if anyone else gets persistent headaches? They are not migraine strength, just there niggling all day and can go on for days. Pain killers dont do much either! Have been to the Docs twice who say they are stress. I am sure im am not stressed as I am on a career break at home! Could they be hormonal? Could they be to do with the pill? (I am a women by the way). Just wanted to see if there is anyone else that suffers or has any tips? Thanks

Get your eyes tested. Mild eye strain can cause these types of headaches.
I get a similar thing and as soon as I feel the headache coming on I take Syndol which are basically strong headache tablets and they were the only thing that touched them. They are available behind the counter at the pharmacy.

Thanks for that, have had eyes tested - fine. Will try the syndol.
You can get menstrual migraines which is caused by the drop in oestrogen (not sure if I have spelt that correctly!) when you have the monthly break in your cycle. I suffer from these, they occur around the time of the pill break and last a couple of days. At first they were not too bad and for a couple of years I just took ibroprofen and ignored the headache, but then they got worse and the ibroprofen only worked for an hour and then the pain came back. I ended up going to the doctor and she changed my pill to the mini pill. This has stopped the regular monthly migraines, but I still get the occaisional ones. I would not rule out migraines as you could be suffering from milder ones like mine. I now take Imigran to deal with mine and they are fantastic, they get rid of any pain completely in about an hour. Thanks Sue, have made an appointment with Docs to see about changing my pill as it is abouth this time I suffer too.
A good osteopath can work wonders, it only needs things to be slightly out of alignment to put tension on the vulnerable neck muscles resulting in headaches. Speaking personally, I think it's worth every penny for the huge benefits.
A cranial osteopath is very gentle, best found by personal recommendation, try your local independant health food shop, they're bound to know the best one in your locality! Good luck.
