husband has chest infection and bad cough. started 1 x 500mg amoxycillin 3x daily.

how long is it likely to take before they kick in and how long til he is likely to be recovered

It will take at least 5 days before he starts feeling any better, and it could be weeks before he is back to himself.

Nasty things, chest infections.

Hi,
I have the same problem at the moment.
GP put me on the same meds as your Husband and same 500mg 3 times a day.
Still feeling horrible even though I finished the course yesterday. Feels like I still have the chest infection and I do still have the cough.
Hope your Husband feels well soon.
