Can anyone give me some advice on a daily BARF diet for my 9 week old chihuahua X Jack Russell puppy please? I have read so much about BARF diets and I really want to get her on to this but im unsure where to start!
What would I feed her for breakfast, dinner and tea and in what quantitys? Any advice would be appreciated.

At nine weeks old you should be following the diet sheet that the breeder gave you.
Have you been here http://www.ukbarfclub.co.uk/ ,you could always ask your vet too :o)
I have a 5 year old chihuaua jack russell who is fine and healthy on bakers small dog dry food. Whats the BARF diet.????
Biologically Appropriate Raw Food :o)

You can change a puppies diet as soon as you get it but it has to be done gradually :-)

Many Thanks for all your replys and the useful websites. The breeder was feeding her pedigree chum but I have heard and read on the internet that this isnt as good as we are all lead to beleive. All the info on a BARF diet sounds beneficial for all - dog &owner! I will join a "doggie chat board" as recommended.
Why would you want to go against what the breeder says? If this is what the breeder feeds and it has worked for them and the puppy is happy and healthy why do you think they have fed them this way?
Most top commercial diets are well tried and tested. They are balanced diets with all the vitamins and minerals needed for a growing pup.

If you choose to go down the road of a BARF diet it will take alot of time and knowledge to get the correct balance for your dog to grow properly. Also if you decide to feed raw chicken wings don't forget the size of your dog, a Chi x is very much smaller than say a GSD, if she gets a bone caught in her throat etc. your vet will have a much more difficult job of removing it.

Breeders usually recommend a diet that they have fed their dogs on for years, without any problems, as Lankeela says why would you want to go against that?
Any kind of "wet meat" always made my dogs fart..not too pleasant..ur vet will probably recommend somekind of really expensive dry food like Eukanuba. My old dog survived til nearly 17 on a diet of Dry food.
I feed Eukanuba and it does not work out expensive if you take into account how much of it is utilised, they do not sh*t out loads of undigested bulk which is what you are paying for in cheaper foods.

I have seven small dogs and one 15kg sack lasts them for one month, which costs approximately 1 per day, and it would cost a hell of a lot more to feed seven of them on pouches of Cesar.
