Abnormal Period?

Hey.

Im posting on behalf of my girlfriend, 20 years old, who is worried about her period at the moment so I thought I'd ask here to see if her period is odd or quite normal. Sorry if it's in the wrong section.

Basically, her period has come after about 34/35 days and she needs to go toilet every 12 hours or so which has been going on for 4 days now. All that comes out is pure blood, normal colour blood, pure red, and thats all, and a very small amount of it too. She says this isnt normal for her and it shouldnt just look like normal blood from your veins but browny/reddish blood or coagulated clots of blood with darker colour or very light with not much flesh and that she would get much more of it. She also felt quite emotional at one point about something which she only gets before her period, but this could be down to her worrying. She says shes pretty sure shes not pregnant as she has been before and nothing is similar to that. She is very much sure it is a period because she has felt period pains as usual, just a little stronger, and its about time she had one, but this unusual period makes her think otherwise.

So is just ordinary untouched blood and very small amounts of it normal for a period or is it something abnormal?

Thank you.

Get this Q on the health section, this is not the right place.
Hi Georgous, I would tell your G/F to see a doctor just to be on the safe side as the flow does'nt seem like a normal period. Please try to excuse the "Bluntness" of pussnboots. Im sure your question will be moved to the Health section.
I think the "bluntness"was appropriate, far too much information for this category.
George, do you really think that there are gynecologists lurking around this site anticipating such graphic descriptions of symptoms which you describe, and willing to give you free advice?!
how is this the wrong section then? If someone posted a question about tv in the media heading, noone would suggest it was moved to a sub category would they?
Anyway, i would suggest ringing nhs direct if she's worried

Thanks to everyone who gave a humanly response, and by this i mean people with emotion and feeling, i will take her to the doctor to get checked out to be on the safe side.

There really is no need for this behaviour, i asked a question about a serious topic, i stated it may be in the wrong section and im sorry if it is but this is my first time posting in this category.

Damn some people can be complete @rseholes. pussnboots and oldfashioned you are some of them, get a life. And stewey...the answer to your question is yes, and who says only gynecologists can give advice, ever heard of "females"?, so i suggest you stick to your own business next time you miserable person.

Im beginning to go off this site slowly...when i first joined everyone was civil and helpful...now it seems its filled with sour no lifes. Ah well thanks again ne2 and bednobs...nice to see some appropriate responses.
Thanks georgeous. Talking of @rseholes I'll forego a graphic description of my piles.
My oh my georgeous you have got a temper. Why post your Q at 23.27 on a Saturday night, just got back from the pub eh! I am a very nice person I would never call people names like you do. The responses you got for your question were as expected. If your gf is so worried she be off to the GP quick.
on the contrary, i dont think the responses were as expected, otherwise he/she wouldnt have posted. I see noone told you to put your questions in the right place when asking about hairdressers (beauty) or talking about looking at the sky, but took the time at least to give an answer, a courtesy you have not afforded georeous. I quite often ask people to put their questions in a different category, but only when they are in the wrong one!

@ oldfashioned, sure tell me all about them mate, piles is not something to go ewww-ewwwwwwwww at like a little child, its a serious issue which is discussed just like a period, thats why its in the "body" section. If you don't like me posting this in this category you can at least talk to me nicely and civil instead of mocking me.

@ pussnboots, i have no idea what your getting at, but for your information i dont go to pubs, i hate them, i was having a quiet night in with my girlfriend and she starting crying and worrying about her period, so to calm her down i thought id ask here so she can get advice from some other females or people with this sort of knowledge, what the hell is wrong with that? you have no right to be abrupt and rude, and yes you talking abruptly and what i would call inpolite is the same to me as calling you an @rsehole, thats the way i work, you offended me.

@ bednobs, i totally agree, thanks mate, if its in the wrong section then thats fine (which i dont think it is anyway), but i clearly stated that i was sorry if it was in the wrong section and this is my first time posting in here, why dont i get nice kind responses that this would be better in another section instead of rudeness from others?

@ stewey, whether or not they strongly advise me it still gives me a right to ask a question for God's sake. What GP do you know who works at 23:27? And its not that fatal to go to the hospital or call in a doctor, its something which i wanted to look up. I didnt rely on it either, this wasnt the only place i asked or person i asked, so youve got it wrong.

My point is guys, just reply politely, whats the harm in replying politely? People have different opinions, people have rights, people MAKE MISTAKES. But that doesnt give you a reason to be inpolite to people on here.
I think everyone just needs to calm down a little. It seems like no-one friendly or helpful on here anymore.
There was no need for the bluntness, as I feel it was on the appropriate place anyway.
And even if some of you are a little 'squeemish' of the details Gorgeous has put across- This was the best way to describe it, as there may just be a doctor on here, who would know what was wrong, just by the description of the symptoms....
Gorgeous, you have to learn to take everything on here with a pinch of salt, there has been alot more sensitive subjects on here, with awful hurtful replies... Even I've had some. You just have to get over the 'humour' some people seem to have.

I would suggest when the doctors re-opens, just pop down and get her to have a chat with one of the doctors. Although I've had something similar, and it was really just a normal period. It's probably nothing to worry about.

Thank you Silversky, i agree totally, and yeah i know i shouldnt take it seriously but when you post something with utter seriousness in the case of my girlfriends health you kind of get offended when you get answers like these. But thanks for the advice, im sure many people would have done the same thing if their gf was crying and worried about something, thats all i did.
no disrespect, but there are no doctors on this site giving out medical advice,,, i hope phone N H S 24 or seek medical advice.

I understand that crete, i wasnt asking doctors though, i was asking females...
