My Mum came off her HRT (Prempak-C) abou 6 months ago and since then she has noticed an increase in facial hair - both quantity and length. She is feeling really selfconcious about it and is currently having electrolysis but it is an ongoing process. Any other women out there experienced this side effect from STOPPING tablets? Mum seems to thin she is turning into a man because Eostrogen levels have dropped having stopped HRT!!

I shave every morning and have done for years. Mine was due to some tablets I had for fibroids. There is a positive side to shaving, it must take the dead cells away as it helps keep wrinkles at bay.
Well she can investigate having laser treatment which is permanent, or perhaps have a chat with the doctor about it. I think it is a very common problem for women actually, she is not turning into a man ..
This is a fairly common problem suffered by many woman who have stopped HRT . I just keep a good pair of straight-end tweezers handy and have a yanking session on a regular basis. It doesn't really hurt if you do it quickly and it's far cheaper than ongoing electrolysis.
