Both in GB and the EU, many people have recently suffered from salmonella poisoning. I say 'recently' when, in fact, this issue came to public light in the Autumn of last year.

How can the food company responsible be allowed to 'get away' with their obvious lack of concern for the health of their customers? In our immediate family circle, no-one has even heard of the company's name being mentioned.

This is nothing short of scandalous.

Chocolate, darling?

Is this separate to the Kinder issue we have known about for some time? Kinder egg products have been withdrawn and the suspected factory in Belgium closed. Investigations are ongoing but it's been no secret to the UK public.
The company detected the presence of salmonella in its buttermilk last December. It took measures to deal with the problem and only distributed its products after all further testing produced negative results.

It was only later, when salmonella cases started to occur in several countries, that a highly advanced testing technique (molecular typing) showed a link back to the factory.

Bue: I was not expecting a belated defensive comment on behalf of Ferrero who were rather backward in coming forward.
It was only later, when salmonella cases started to occur in several countries,

then the negative tests were false negatives and the protestors had a point

( I wd be doubful if kids got salmonelly and a producer said that it wasnt them - and then said it was after all !
