no don't think so.
No. You need a balanced diabetic diet
Losing weight may help ?
I reversed my type 2 with diet and exercise, losing 6.5 stone in the process - about half of which i've put back on in the last 8 years, though still type 2 free. Cut your portions of meat, take out much of your starch, go for wholemeal products and eat plenty of fruit, veg and fish.
I have type 2 diabetes and although I didn't fast I did eat a very careful diet and lost a lot of weight. At one stage I was taking three different drugs every day to control the diabetes now I control it by diet alone.

Fasting can work for some people if done properly; low carb diets will work for others. Not one type of diet will suit all Type 2 diabetics.
Yes, intermittent fasting and other lifestyle modifications have been known to reverse T2DM.

The sooner you make the necessary changes the better.

Yes you can but one has to replace the word "cure" with the word "reverse".
If you are already on diabetic tablets and Insulin then there is no chance that you can reverse/ cure your diabetes.
If you are on tablets alone then you do have a chance to reverse/cure your diabetes but it will mean living on about 800-1000 cals a day.
I couldn't, could you?
If you have diabetes then adjust your diabetes which leaves your blood tests at an acceptable level.
Live with diabetes.
Sqad, I have a 1000 calorie a day diet and it is blerdy hard :(
I tried the low carb and the intermittent fasting (not at the same time) and they didn't work for me
On the same site that Barry linked to, there is information on the various ways to reverse T2. Diet is becoming the best and most accessible method, and it does not needs to be super low calorie...which should only be done under a doctor's supervision.

I never knew just how many calories i was consuming while i was reversing the Type 2 and losing all that weight. I halved my consumption of red meat, sugary foods and starchy foods, swapping them for veg, sweeteners and wholemeal alternatives. I began to eat 3 meals a day (never done that before) with my afternoon meal consisting either of home made soup, fruit or salad. I allowed myself a little evening treat of a few biscuits or a few pieces of dark chocolate after my small tureen of nuts around 9.30 in the evening. After a couple of weeks (once my stomach was 'educated') i found it very easy to maintain. By the way, i had also just given up smoking, too, so i guess my will-power passed the test.
I should add that i was initially on 4 Metformin per day, gradually decreasing to zero medication after about 15 months.

Well done.
May I ask what diabetic medication you were taking before your change of tactics?

Stopped taking my own readings years back, Sqad. And i never ask what the readings are when i have my 6-monthly checks. I just get told that everything's A-OK.
surprisingly answer 19 is remarkably common sqad

glucostats have NOT revolutionised the tmt of diabetes because people use the glucostat ( great! ) and then follow up with
" the figures o god knows I never look at THEM!"
and not surprisingly their control changes not a jot
