............by the govt, to pretend they have Covid. In the latest initiative, the govt wants everyone to act like they've got Covid.

So, how do you pretend you've got a rough, barking cough?

How do you pretend you've got a high temperature?

How do you pretend that you can't taste or smell anything?

What the govt wants people to do, is what people have been have been doing since the dawn of time - pretend they're ill! Most doctors, if they are honest, will tell you that over 95% of surgery consultations are unnecessary, with people moaning about some pain or other that will clear up after a few days.

So there you have it folks. The govt has given you the perfect excuse to stay off work or avoid some other committment: Act as though you have Covid!!
You know it makes sense!

Thud. Your not as funny as you seem to think. Am off.
You do know you're going to be asked for a link to back up your '95%' claim, don't you?

:o) I love this website! But tis all true, isn't it? The govt wants you to pretend you're ill! They're saying as much! Act as though you've got Covid. I'm not saying it. This is your caring govt that now wants you to be a hypochondriac! Wonderful!
^^^ It might not be '95%', Ken, but it's still over 50 million wasted GP appointments every year:

Judging by the amount of traffic on my way to and from work, very few people are using the excuse.

The only link to that is what my doctor said over 10 years ago. Out of a full "emergency" surgery one Saturday morning, he said only one person had any need to see him. The rest could have just taken Paracetemol, Anadin, Neurofen etc. He then phoned for an ambulance for a relative of mine. They stopped having Saturday surgeries afetr that.

Zacs, I've seen it for the first time this morning, so can't comment on yesterdays traffic. Sorry!
Do you think you might be confusing ‘pretending to be ill’ with ‘avoiding becoming ill’?

You do have a penchant for getting hold of the wrong end of the stick, 10cs.
You’ve seen what for the first time this morning?
For once I’m gonna see it as Boris and his mob mean it .they want you to keep you distance ,wash your hands stay at home And they want you to think of others and behave in a sensible way as they think you would do if you had it .

It's pretending you've got it, isn't it? Act as though you've got it. If you're acting as if you've got it, that's pretending to be ill, isn't it? Pretend to be ill to avoid catching it? :oD
fascinating.....will this campaign do something about pharmacies refusing or being reluctant to sell certain pharmacy meds to over 60's?
our hasn't done a saturday surgery for years, - if called to go into the surgery which i was a month ago i went, got a overall health check -
don't about pretending to be ill with covid, surely if one has it there's no pretending...
You’ve posted some crap in your time on here, man, but this is numero uno in your top ten.

Anyway, thanks for the replies folks. Need to go to Boots for some hypochondriac supplies! Byeeeeee!
I assume you're been sarky

What the gov is saying by acting as if youve got covid is to do what you would do if you really had covid and did not require hospital assistance

That is ,stay at home and avoid contact as far as possible with other people outside of your household

I'm sure most people understand that from.the gov statement
10cs clearly isn’t ‘most people’.
I have seen a couple of articles saying this is part of a Government campaign but couldn't see the source to confirm that.

However, the action to take when pretending to have Covid would be to self-isolate as opposed to going around acting out the symptoms.

That hasn't worked at all, has it Baz? Shops and Supermarkets always have plenty of people in them. In the first lockdown, face masks weren't required, and the infection rate plumetted. When face masks are required, the infection rate rockets!
so you are saying what exactly, don't wear one?
