Can anyone help ,my deodorant for some reason or another has stopped working ,and by lunchtime can begin to smell my sweat . Iam meticulous about my hygiene and have tried various types of anti-perspiration,and after a day or two back to square one . I’m always shaving my armpits and make sure they are dry when applying the lotion on

I stopped using antiperspirants a few years ago because I didn`t like the aluminium salts that are in them. I use L'Occitane stick deordorants instead and I can honestly say that I have never noticed any difference, even after working 15 hour shifts.

I would guess it’s not as bad as you think. Ask a good friend or colleague to be honest and tell you if you are smelly.
Well buy another make.
Mitchums is supposed to work.
It could be your clothes not getting a proper wash in the machine.

I've binned many a work tshirt for that reason, they would get a bit fragrant after an hour or two and once there nothing seemed to shift it.
I used to use roll ons. But over last few months i've been using Sure anti perspirant( solid) its great and no more bad smells. Dont forget i sweat buckets in our 35C+ summer heat.
When I used to use anti-perspirants, I found the stick ones were the most effective. I found sprays a bit useless and roll-ons sticky.
I use the Ball Type, but you can also use them under your arms.
Odour is produced by bacteria digesting dead skin, oils, matter within sweat, etc., warmth and moisture promotes this activity. A very effective way to stop the odour is to kill the microbes with ordinary vinegar (wine or apple, not barley which adds its own particular odour). After washing, wipe some vinegar onto the skin where odour emerges, and wetting areas of clothing before washing at lower temperatures can also do away with the odour there although simply washing at 60 degrees works perhaps even better. The smell of (wine and apple) vinegar vanishes very quickly. The treatment is less and less necessary over time. Incidentally, vinegar is also very effective against foot odour and even helpful against dandruff and athlete's foot.
Anti-perspirants are designed to stop sweating - some prefer not to interfere with the natural skin processes. Deodorants primarily mask the results of the processes or attempt to slow or alter them.
Thats's them ,237SJ.!!
What deodorant do you use, Daisy? I use Sure stick antipersperant and that seems to keep BO away.

As Sharon has said, Mitcham is a good brand.

*L'Occitane*
I use Mitcham and find it excellent. If you want something that doesn’t stop perspiration but will stop the smell, then Pitstop is also excellent. It’s literally a rock the you rub on clean damp armpits.

Thank you all for your responses ,very grateful
Oh dear, I find the smell of a woman's armipits quite attractive. Perhaps it's not as offensive as you think.
daisy - Fresh perspiration does not smell.

The odour from perspiration comes from the bacteria in the skin breaking down deposits over a period of time.

I would suggest that the most likely issue is your clothing retaining perspiration which is then decaying and may lead to some attendant odour.

Try upping the temperature for your washing and make sure your clothing is bone dry before you put it away.

Just leave the windows open daisy, no-one will notice ;o)
