Ct Scan On Knees That Have Been Replaced

I've got 2 knee replacements, R replaced in 2005, L replaced in 2014. Since January of this year I have been having Physio treatment ( exercises at home) both at the hospital and, of late, via video chats. The reason for the treatment is that my right knee started to collapse ( as though someone has kicked me in the back of the knee) and the consultant told me that a ligament had stretched and was later told that it could not be repaired.Back in February my right knee gave way, I fell over and twisted my left knee in the process. Ever since this knee has started to "collapse" as well. The physio has done me no good at all. I have asked for a CT scan on my knees but have been told that due to the metalwork in both legs I can't have a scan. I would be grateful if someone could confirm this, and if possible, let me know if their is any kind of scan that would work. Apologies for the lengthy description.

i wasn't going to comment because I know very little. Apparently the problem with metal work and CT's is that the metal affects the image. If the scan is needed of the hip ands you have metal in your knee, it might be ok but you need a scan of your knee where the metal is ansd what is likely is that the image would just be grey smears and no detail. There is also the risk that such scans will increase the absorrption of radiation according to this article https:/

Thanks for the replies. Currently I am wearing a brace on both legs (the type that has hinged metal sides) but cannot wera them for too long. The consultant back in December of last year told me that any further surgery was really not possible and the physio has "washed her hands of me ". I just have to keep doing the exercises she said and has given me a 6 month open appointment. Guess it's something I'll have to learn to live with. Thanks again folks.
