My husband had his big toenails removed just over two weeks ago because of an ingrowing toenail problem. He is still having lots of pain and is only wearing sandals, tried his slippers today for first time but could only keep them on a few minutes. In just under two weeks we are supposed to be going away for Christmas , (all booked and paid for ) I cannot see him being able to wear shoes and a bit of walking about in that time, I dont see why he cannot wear sandals but he says that is not an option.
Can anybody advise please ?

Thanks sqad, ,he seems to think wearing sandals in the winter is a no no, but it wouldnt bother me, am wishing we had not booked this break.
LOL...well he has a couple of weeks to "man up."
You're going to a place where you are unlikely to meet anybody you know and, probably, will never see again, so what does it matter? On top of that he'll make their holiday because they can go back home and tell their friends there was this bloke on holiday with them wearing SANDALS.
I saw three people in Reading wearing shorts yesterday (not postmen) - that's even better than sandals.
in two weeks time he will feel a bit better but not 100%, shame he has had this just before a holiday. I'm assuming he is wanting to stay home now?

Flippin Christmas, its only there to be ruined!

My only suggestion is to carry on regardless and leave him to decide what he's going to wear on his feet. Be upbeat and exited, as if nothing has happened and under play the whole foot thing now.

thanks ,he is being over the top me thinks, he is determined to go even though we have insurance and could cancel, I am perhaps being a bit selfish cos I want to go ,but I can imagine just what it will be like, he is a bit of a wuss where pain is concerned... just cant seem to think it will be that enjoyable.
You'll have to get him one of those giant comedy slippers for Christmas, that you put both feet in! Try to make him laugh it might work...
