It might contain something like Complan which is bland and easily digestible.
is your MIL in hospital or at home?
Maybe Ensure/Fortisip type drinks which contain vitamins and minerals.
If its in hospital, it could be a feed that goes straight into the bloodstream via a needle which is why I asked.
Question Author
She's at home and a breast/bone cancer sufferer undergoing monthly infusions of zometa + various painkillers and morphine patches. Shes always been 'portly' but in the last few months has lost her appetite and consequently a fair amount of weight, saying she feels sick after a small amount of food.
has she got a permanent line in for the infusions? Its possible to give nutrition through that line and can work wonders to make the patient feel better....sadly not to cure them though.
Question Author
No permanent line - they have to 'stab' (her words) her each time
The plan might be to give it along with the next infusion if it is an IV feed. I think you really need to ask he doc.
Question Author
her GP has prescribed it - the pharmacy is delivering it/them to her tomorrow has they had none in stock tonight. They told she can pick and choose her favourites for the next prescription !
sounds like its not IV then :)
