Can anyone explain the benefits to me. A lot of gym goers take protein shakes after exercise but someone mentioned the above capsules.

Just wanted to ask if they are effective and safe. Many thanks.

My knowledge of L-Glutamine is minimal and goes back many years and is probably out of date by now.......for what it is worth.....

It is an amino acid that is produced naturally by the body and is necessary for protein buildup, particularly after trauma..e.g burns.

It's role in sports medicine has not been scientifically established....effective or non effective.

Excess intake of this amino acid may well cause significant side effects.....rare, but they do exist, particularly in certain neuro psychiatric disorders...depression and certain neurological side effects.

The benefit is purely to the vendor, it is called 'profit margin'

Well, my bf was recommended taking it before running to help muscle repair?

And I do quite a few cardio classes at the gym and all the other ladies use protein powder but I really don't understand the benefits.

There is no evidence whatsoever that using a protein shake or anything else after exercise has any benefit whatsoever provided that you are eating a diet with sufficient protein in it.
