can we be clear, do you have stomache ache, is that what you are trying to remedy?

The chemists on call will be open today (our Tesco pharmacy is always open on Sundays) - if it's urgent, give them a ring.

yes i have a stomach ache not indigestion the leaflets do say it can cause stomach ache from taking clopidogrel ,aspirin and the statins
That "cocktail" of drugs is the standard, well researched and the most beneficial used successfully in the management of coronary artery disease, by millions of sufferers.
What utter nonsense boxy...ringing a chemist on a Sunday for such a ridiculous query.
Probably the asprin. You may need a smaller dose. I know sqad will object, but I would miss it for a couple of days until your stomach gets better, or seen the doctor, whichever is sooner.
Gromit....nothing to do with me...........
To honest sqad I would phone the chemist too, if he is on duty, he is on duty, what day it is is irrelevant. it is a 2 minute query, I would certainly not object if someone phoned me in that situation, its his job to answer such enquiries.

thanks to all for your comments

Not saying it is safe because I do it, but I am on a similar cocktail and have the same problem. A rest from the asprin generally works.

thanks gromit
im sorry, but if id had a heart attack, I would not stop the aspirin...........but im not a doctor !!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't mean stop it. I mean miss one dose or two.

It thins the blood and causes the stomach to bleed and ulcers. If you are on it all the time the effects can be painful and unpleasant.
im sorry gromit, but I personally wouldn't stop the aspirin even for a short time , until id discussed it with pharmacist/gp.
Sqad, if you weren't here, or any other clinical help, the pharmacy is open for sales and queries on a Sunday from 10 til 4, there's always a duty pharmacist - why wouldn't someone use it? I'd rather go and see a pharmacist than ring 111.....
Question Author
I shall call my Doctor in the morning as i can tolerate it till then as its probably the aspirin, as it starts to be a problem 2/3 hours later after i take the medication thanks to all
carlyon.....IF it is the aspirin, why not take it WITH your food?
You only need take it once a day so take it with your breakfast.
Most low dose Aspirin is either enteric coated or "gastric resistant" if it is not, then ask your GP to change it.
Question Author
thanks Sqad i wonder if omeprozole might help as Ive taken these in the past
Yes, if it does not improve, I think that taking Omeprazole would be a very good idea indeed.
I would certainly take the omeprozole, it wont do any harm.
carlyon........just noticed that you are taking Clopidogrel................the anti clotting may be reduced by taking omeprazole......ask your GP tomorrow before you take it
