For weight loss....it really doesn't matter as it is an inefficient way of losing weight.

For cardiovascular" eternity "....then swimming slower for a longer period of time seems to be the better method.

Thanks Sqab .... what would be a more efficient type of exercise for weight loss ?
Eating less is the best form of exercise for weight loss. Exercise can help- I know someone who lost weight through a lot of cycling- but I know that that for me it's ineffective. II run maybe 3 miles but feel hungry when I get back- and the slice of toast I have probably cancels out the calories burned in half an hour's running
factor fiction is quite correct.
Exercise is still good for you though, so keep on swimming but do it in a way you enjoy.
There is no specifically suitable exercise for losing weight. Sure it helps, raises the metabolic rate when your fit so give a little boost. But the main driver for weight loss is fewer calories consumed. Exercise for health and fitness, eat a suitable diet to be a healthy weight.
Eat properly and cook from basic ingredients. To lose weight eat a little less. Exercise will help you to look slimmer as muscle is denser than fat and so the same weight gives less bulk.
