Food before and after exercise

Please can you advise what food to eat after a heavy bout of exercise. Just joined a boot camp exercise routine and was ravenous afterwards. My meals for the day went like this: Breakfast was porridge and a banana before exercise then jacket potato with prawns/salad afterwards. Then was so hungry a couple of hours afterwards and ate Rivita and humous as a snack. Errrr, starving later on and ended up with a chicken curry and rice.

I know I have completely blown the good work done, so please can someone advise a better meal plan for when I undertake the exercise routine again!

Many thanks

Seems to me you are trying to do too much too soon. Do not eat immediately before or after exercise. Take it gently and then use a shed load of willpower.

I did wonder that myself Wardlaw but I want to commit to this exercise class because I know it will help me. I do a similar class on a Monday but it is much more gentle. Still recovering from Friday's class though so will take it easy tonight!!

Thanks for your advice.....................
Good luck! Stick with your OWN programme. Too many people with too little knowledge are doing more harm than good.
Try drinking a large glass of water after the exercise. or have more porridge- I eat porridge after a morning run
After exercise it's usually liquid the body needs wa
I usually take a Whey High Protein drink (shake) after exercise, does the trick for me.
Try to consume light food that must contain fiber and avoid consuming just after the exercise.
