....dr advised 24 hours no food just clear liquids and then things like plain toast, boiled rice and a few boiled potatoes. But now its tea time I don't fancy boiled potatoes or another bag of rice...would a small bowl of pasta be allowed..any ideas?

Should be fine, if you have it plain.
As long as there is no tomato sauce on it!!
If you have an appetite, you are probably OK!
The worst might be it goes straight thru and out the other end.....
Question Author
it would definitley be plain, just didn't feel satisfied after the rice earlier

Well the toast did mosaic but the rice was fine, I've got an appetite the size of russia to be honest with you. I'm not used to being starved
how about a smattering of parmesan ?
Question Author
not allowed dairy murraymints :( which is a bugger because I could murder a bowl of cornflakes or something with cheese
You will be fine - how about a very small portion of scrambled eggs - made with milk, no cream.
mix in some cold garden peas/sweetcorn/kidney beans..???

I'm not sure about Scrambled Eggs DT last time I had this problem..thats what mum made me and it didn't bode well.
Might try that mm
stay off the fibre QoM so not fruit or veggies but yes pasta is fine.
then stick to pasta, nothing on it. Things like tom sauce are too acidic.

What "tummy troubles " are we talking about?
Question Author

Sqad you really had to ask.....erm well it started as a sore tummy last tuesday (bit like a stitch) nothing happened much after that until 2.30am Sunday morning....lets just say the loo is my 'b*m chum' so to speak....the dr said it could be my old friend gastroenteritis and put me on clear fluids yesterday and no food but thats when i started spewing but went on the light diet of toast/rice....being diabetic doesn't help...thats basically the 'tummy problems'
Ah! got it now. So day one has passed and you are 2/3ds of the way through day 2.
Well my advise would be to start now with a little of ANYTHING you fancy, but check your sugar levels later tonight.
Question Author
no it started last tuesday but all came to a head on sunday there. I've been checking them regularly as normal and for ketones and im keeping on top of them quite well. But thanks for the advice :)
