Since I had my last cigarette.
I went to the doctor and
Guess what he told me? guess what he told me?
He said girl you'd better cut down no matter what you do, but he's a fool.
Coz nothing compares, nothing compares ...to (the new healthier) you !

You can do it!
Well done.

I'm thinking of getting the e-lights.
6 weeks so far for me :-)
nini.

i always applaud people who manage to kick the habit.
good luck to you.

thank you all - and well done Boo! 6 weeks is amazing!! I have to admit I'm using Champix which makes it much easier than going cold turkey, but still takes quite a lot of will power (but the cravings are less severe) xx
You and Boo deserve a blooming good pat on the back --well done x
Great keep it up it's worth the anxiety. I went cold turkey and it's 2 1/2 years since I stopped. All I need now is the willpower to keep off the pies and the fresh crusty bread.
Yeah jno, round two!

Ta Nina, don't get me wrong, it's difficult, but im managing- just. I'm using E Cigs, which are marginally helping, well ,they're stopping me slaughtering the entire Boo household anyway.

Keep at it, and keep us updated :-)
Well done, Nini
Well done Nini and B00

Keep up the good work. We are all behind you, but do not start putting on weight as some people do when they give up "the weed".
I brought an electronic ciggie today. At the moment I'm just going to be using it at work and see how I go from there.... Bloody makes me cough more than a ciggie does though!

Thats fannnnntastic well done ....keep it up, youll have so much extra pennies xxxxxx
Well done! Keep going. You will be much healthier and have a great deal more money if you keep it up. I am doing the same with dieting. It is very difficult, but just keep focussing on your goal.
it's 13 years 8 months since my last cigarette. Went cold turkey, NRT can be expensive. New baby was on the way, the wife's tight employers only paid SMP so something had to go in order to pay the bills.

Don't be disheartened if you go back on them, just try again when you're ready. Only once I had been off them for three months did I consider myself as an ex-smoker. Numerous attempts previously had been unsuccessful.

Good luck!

Thank you all for your kind words and support. And AnswerPrancer - thanks for the song!! I'm giving up because of my beautiful little boy who deserves better than to lose his parents through horrible illness before he's grown up and settled - so the boy I live for is the boy I plan to live longer for.......(perhaps giving up is making me a little more sentimental and over emotional after all??) xxx
