Been to the doctor today as ive had stomach pains and back pains, the doctor was shocked at the colour of my urine, she tested it and i have Keytones, protein and blood in it, been told i must drink 3 litres of fluid a day until next week then if the pains are still there im to go back, who actually does drink that amount, im finding it really difficult to do as i dont normally drink anything during the day only a cup of tea in the morning. x

you need to pace yourself throughout the day. Are you allowed any flavourings to help?
No wonder you have kidney problems if your only drinking one cup of tea a day
I am already on my second litre of water now and that is not counting the 4 or 5 cups of tea I have had
And no I am not always at the loo
Me, easily. I always have a glass of something next to me (not alcohol before anyone comments) I have a coffee in the morning. Then I usually have a pint of milkshake...then pints of water that I sip throughout the day. Today I've also had 2 glasses of OJ.

Ive bought 4 litres of flavoured water today, im struggling to drink the 1st glass let alone 3 litres of it, i really dont think i can do it.
probably at least that if everything I drink is included... approx one medium sized glass of fluid per hour is about right for a lot of people and it doesn't have to be plain water...squash, tea, etc is ok
three litres of wine is therefore good - aah I am relieved.

No wonder you have problems, tamirra, never mind your salt levels and getting the toxicants out of you......you really need to up it, a glass of water when you get up, one at breakfast and tea, midmorning, lunch, tea and dinner and the addition of tea and coffee should get you there - don't go for the soft drinks.....
You need to drink enough fluid to make your wee go very pale. The amount differs from person to person.

Do you drink alcohol?
me two mugs of tea or coffee before work about three mugs during the morning plus a bottle of some sort of soft drink... large glass squash with lunch and another coffee, tea approx 2 mugs during afternoon another drink when I get in one or two glasses of squash with supper and at least another two drinks during evening a lot more in hot weather
You can have more cups of tea, some clear soup maybe, water (or if you dont like water on its own with a slice of lemon maybe), juices or squashes, hot chocolate etc I am sure you can find something you like. I dont try to have 3 litres of fluid, but drink coffee, water or fruit teas during the day at work. Urine needs to be a pale straw colour, so you can see how you are doing. Good luck with getting rehydrated tamirra.

My god, im shocked at the amount you all drink, it can get to 7 in the evening and i will realise that ive not had a drink since my morning cup of tea, i know ive really got get this under control as my pains are bad at the moment x
I do easily Tamirra, like it has been said before mix up how you drink it, just drink it ! Try with the things you really enjoy unless it is caffeine heavy then swap for fruit juice and squash . If you enjoy tea, try another one during your day. Flavoured milk / smoothies can count too.

Its strange, cos at the moment when i do go to wee other than the urine sample i did, i do about a teaspoon amount and its clear like water when i look at it in the toilet, cant even see it as it looks just like the water in the bottom of the toilet, but the sample was very dark.
You only do a teaspoon as you do not have any excess liquid in your body. The teaspoon mixes with the water that is sitting in your toilet, so there is no visible colour change in your case. Get drinking - NOW!
I've recently been in hospital twice, and nearly a third time, with pancreatisis. The third time one of the ambulance crew said they had also had this, and told me what the doctors never did to beat the pain - just drink loads more fluid. It worked. I called the ambulance because it was starting to affect breathing, and even without that I could be doubled up with pain, but drinking loads of water helped so much.

I still get it off an on but with the water drinking I can control and bear it.

Thank you and i will try my hardest to get into a habbit of drinking. x
I believe ice-cream, ice lollies and yogurts count too.
You must be so dehydrated without realising. I always carry a small bottle of water with me - a glass of water when I clean my teeth first thing and in the evening, then others through the day. Most of what I drink is just plain water.
quite easily, i have glass of water in the morning, 2/3 cups of tea at work, plus more water then water or wine at night....
I would never make it through the day with such a small amount to drink!
I have 2 mugs of tea before porridge and then another one after that, then have plenty more throughout the day, including my nightly pint of very diluted orange juice.
Juicy fruit counts as well, melon, citrus, soft fruits and so on.
