I had a steroid injection in my eye 2 days ago and since the injection I have had a blood bubble on the side of my iris. It's still quite sore and hurts when I blink. Does anyone know if this is a normal side effect after an injection into the eye?
Thanks

Thank you
Who is York 344?
He is an Aber who is either an Optician or a Optomatrist......very knowledgeable.
Most likely you have a subconjunctival haemorrhage from a blood vessel caught at the time of the injection. I presume you mean on the white of the eye and not on the coloured iris. This is very common and the blood will wash away over the next few weeks.
Here is a good patient information leaflet for Ocular steroid injections.
