Are you on any medication?
Nothing comes to mind.

Are you on any medication...e.g statins and have you any underlying medical condition for which you are having treatment?

not on any meds, just woke up on new ears day with a pain in my leg and now getting spasms more and more frequently in the same place everytime, I have an appointment with my GP next tuesday but I am concerned in case it could be something more worrying
Under stress ?

Otherwise I did wonder about pinched nerves, although they usually hurt without the spasm.
Peeler.........no, nothing sinister comes to mind.
As a long shot.....an under-active thyroid MIGHT give you those symptoms.
