I quit after almost 40 years using Niquitine 4mg lozenges. Don't know about those peppermint cigarettes.
i am sure they are safer than proper ciggies.
What have you done with the money you have saved, sandyRoe?
there is something new coming out called Tabex, saw it on Sky News this morning
On Sky News this morning there was something about a new tablet to aid giving up.

Cupid, I'm still spending it on Niquitine lozenges. I've stopped smoking. I haven't got over my nicotine addiction.

thanks sandy,
It's for Mr Puma actually. he's finally decided to quit after 16 years smoking :o)
I am very happy, but he really seems to be struggling. He is currently going cold turkey, so i thought i'd find somethings to take the edge off.
Thought if he ould still smoke something it may help. I have ordered patches and the inhalator thingy :o)

i'm sure your right ankou but I thought i'd check and see if they've been heard of - never know what you buying sometims ay!?
Question Author
ooooh thanks bobbi and rocky i will have a look
heard of ?

they sell them in holland and barret! and most other herbal / health shops.
With smoking it's not the nicotine that does the harm. It's the smoke. I think something that replaced the nicotine, like chewing gum, or the lozenges I use, would be safer.
Question Author
very true sandy.
I was only thinking about them not containing nicotiene, carbon monoxide and tobacco etc etc
i will stick with the bits i've bought him then.

Thanks all
Yes they are safe, but are they effective?

Just stop smoking straight away..............not easy to do but the best method.
Question Author
thanks squad :o)
Hope they smell better thsn the herbal (not that kind of herbal!) ones I bought years ago to try to quit, they stank and not even the smokers would come anywhere near me with one.
Cold turkey is the only way. Sheer determination and will power.
herbal cigarettes are vile!

Try a convention NRT in some form from a chemist.

Thanks all for the replies.

Mr Puma is 'coping' with patches and an inhalator :o)

He's only bitten my head off the once so far!
Puma, get Mr P to ring your local Stop Smoking NHS service - you can get patches and a guided programme to help him, and some moral support. And it's free!
