She wasn't beautiful but that is just my opinion. It is hard to decide who is and isn't beautiful these days ~ with the press of a couple of buttons anyone can look fantastic in photographs. There seems to be many effeminate looking males on TV, films etc ~ not my cup of tea at all.

As you say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Many deem Kylie Minogue to be a beautiful woman but - and i speak as your average red-blooded male - she does absolutely nothing for me. Not even in those hot pants!! Yet her 'neighbour' Holly Vallance really floats my boat.

The test is if they are still beautiful when you remove the make up/hair dye/false eyelashes etc. There`s a difference between beauty and glamour. As my Mum says, "Glamour comes out of a bottle".

I don't agree with the hair dye though. No many 20/30/40 somethings would rock the grey look.

Most other beauties I could name are either "mature" or deceased,eg Elizabeth Jane Howard (author);Rita Hayworth; Greer Garson; Vivien Leigh; Monroe; Catherine Deneuve; Jean Shrimpton; Twiggy and Debbie Harry.
