A couple of months ago I had half a head on highlights and as they are growing out quite rapidly my roots are showing and a I several grey hairs!! I told my hairdresser that I wanted to grow the highlights out as I wasnt too keen on them and she said I need some 'lowlights' I cant afford to have it done at the moment and I am considering buying a colour from the shops (not permanent) just to get through the next few months.

Please can anyone recommend a brand as I have not used one for years!
Thanks :-)

I have the same problem. I've found Garnier Movida semi-permanent hair colours particularly good however I would choose a shade lighter than you require because the result is slightly darker than on the box and only leave on for the stated time!

For a more gentle colour and not as long lasting are the Harmony hair colours which leave your hair very silky and soft. I've also found that Superdrug and Boots own make semi-permanent hair colours are long lasting but again the colours do come out darker than on the box so I would stick to the well known brand such as Garnier, etc.

Hope it turns out great and let me know how you get on.
Boots hair tints are next best to salon tinting, especially for darker shades.
