I can't seem to find a decent mascara with a smallish brush, no matter how much I pay. I'm looking for one that scrapes most of the colour off the brush before apply it to the lashes. The brands I'm buying at the moment seem to lard too much of a coating onto my lashes. I'd rather build up than scrape off :-)

Also. I usually like to buy a waterproof mascara, but someone has told me that smudge proof is just as good if not better - is this true?

If anyone can recommend a really good mascara that does the job I'd be very grateful. Thanks everyone.

Maybelline one by one - the brush is harder and you don't get all that gunky build up.
Lancome are the best I've tried over the years.Expensive but really good and not clumpy

Kanebo mascara has a small brush, I use it for my bottom lashes. You can get it at harrods or online here:

I use clinque high definition lashes and its wonderful, its got the normal mascara brush on one side and like a comb on the other its excellent. Im sure if you went to the nearest shop that has a counter they'd be more than happy to test it on you and see how you get on with it.
I like Maybelline Great Lash waterproof mascara - no more panda eyes
My favourite was one that my husband bought me as a present!! It was called MAC Mascara X which was water resistant. It is a good daytime mascara as it does not give a dramatic effect but more of a baby day look. Small brush and definitely did not clump.
meant to say 'baby doll look'.
I would recommend "Lash Stiletto" its a black mascara, which makes your lashes look amazing... Its personally what I use everyday... I have naturally long eyelashes but I still get complimented on how classy my eyelashes look! lash Stiletto is the way to go... Hope I could help!
