I remember reading a book set in Scotland when I was a child, it had a character called Hamish and had a map at the begining of the book with a manse. I can't remember the author or the plot of the story but just know I really enjoyed reading these books. Does anyone out there remember these books?

is it the Katie Morag books?
Question Author
No These were novels I read them when I was maybe 8 or 9.

Telling us you were 8 or 9 is no help at all. We don't don't if you are 15 or 75.

Sorry Ethel

I am 51 now.
These might be a bit modern but one of them seems to have puzzles as well as a story so there might be a map there?

No These were novels, no pictures, for older children and the map at the front showed the manse and a house on the coast. Wish I could remember more information.
Would it be the Sula books by Lavinia Derwent?
Question Author
No They were along the lines of the famous five with the children solving mysteries.
