Hi guys

We've all seen 'that' picture of che guevara http://celebritydeath.files.wordpress.com/2007 /10/che-guevara.jpg but i was wondering what that type of picture is called. i have been searching on google for similar black and white pictures without any shades of grey using the following as search strings:
monotone
monochrome
2 tone
black and white
high contrast

all return poor results. I'm sure there must be a better description or even a name for this type of art? any help appreciated.

thanks

From memory of when my old dad used to do this sort of stuff about 40-odd years ago, I think you'll find it's called Tone Separation
