Been to the book shop and the library but nothing takes my fancy.  I read most things except for romance.

I'd never heard of 'Little Fires Everywhere' until I happened upon the television series.  I imagine the book to be a great read.

Robert Harris has written a series of novels based around historical events. I've read 4 or 5 of them so far and they are all good reads. Here are just a few;

An Officer And A Spy - based on the Alfred Dreyfuss afair

Enigma - based on Bletchley Park

Munich - based on the 'Munich Agreement'

Conclave - based on a papal election

Imperium - based on the life of Cicero

I'm reading Rory Stewart - Politics on the Edge.

It's a good read & very enlightening on the trials and tribulations of a government official & MP and the rank hypocrisy and incompetence of some of our rulers.

I'm currently re-reading 'Backwards' signed copy from author and co. creater of 'Red Dwarf'.... Rob Grant. a brilliant read one has to stop at each chapter sometimes to figure out what is actually unfolding if time were moving forward.

The Game of Thrones series of books are a good read, as are The Last Kingdom series by Bernard Cornwell.
