jimF; Thank you, I have heard the name Molesworth but haven't read it. I certainly didn't invent the piece of cod reference, I must have heard it somewhere.
Has this thread run its course? I was enjoying it. Nothing nasty for a change.

Thank you all very much! All the info provided were useful indeed. I was investigating the following sentence while preparing a lecture on Tetanus.
Tetanus is referred to in the Old Testament as the “seventh-day death.”
vrach, just out of interest, where did you get that statement?
I didn’t know it was called that.

Tho it makes sense as in the bible David’s son lived seven days

and even today in impoverished countries tetanus can be transmitted during traumatic / difficult births that take place in unhygienic conditions.
That statement may well have come from this page, even though we know the reference was not as direct as they make it sound.

Thanks mamyalyne, but I meant in connection with the bible.

Off the biblical tetanus question I know but….

I recall having to have a tetanus shot after a dog bite and was terrified of getting lockjaw after the bite lol . (I was about 8yo)

Tetanus jabs aren’t something I hear much about nowadays - do they give them routinely as part of kiddie jabs now?
That's the only place I could find the quote used.
I have tetanus jab about every decade.
I wonder where the OP got the bible connection from?
There may be another resource that uses the phrase ...

Tetanus is referred to in the Old Testament as the “seventh-day death.”

...other than the one I have linked to.

Hopefully vrach will tell us.
