Anything by Ben Aaronovitch. Not recent but anything by Terry Pratchett. Can I ask why you want recent ones? provided you haven't read it, does age matter?
I have just finished The Warship by Neil Asher. The follow up to The Soldier both of which are sci-fi and are the first two in a trilogy called "Rise Of The Jain Technology. Brilliant writer of sci fi, I have read everything he has published. Looking forward to Philip Pullmans further tales about the adventures of Lyra in the second of the "Book Of Dust" series out early October but am currently reading( for the second time) The Patrick Rothfuss opener about the life of Kvothe in "The Name of the Wind". I am anticipating again the third of this trilogy and have also read the second part called "The Wise Man's Fear.

"I have stolen princesses back from sleeping barrow kings. I have burned down the town of Trebon. I have spent the night with Felurian and left with both my sanity and my life. I was expelled from the University at a younger age than most people are allowed in. I tread paths by moonlight that others fear to speak of during the day. I have talked to Gods, loved women, and written songs that make minstrels weep.
My name is Kvothe, You may have heard of me."
I'm reading Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine (Gail Honeyman) and am really enjoying it
Big Sky. Kate Atkinson.
Run Away Harlan Coben.
If you enjoy historical fiction, you'll love anything by Antonia Senior: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Antonia-Senior/e/B00MTCZH5U?ref=sr_ntt_srch_lnk_1&qid=1566072567&sr=8-1
The whisper man by Alex North, and I have just read all 7 of Rob Ashmans books, never heard of him, but I found him by accident and devoured them all quickly especially The Mechanic trilogy

The Salt Path by Raynor Winn. A Sunday Times Best Seller and an absolute page turner. It's the true story of a couple who lost everything and embarked on foot on a journey of salvation across the windswept South West coast line. The couple are still living in that area. I loved it.
