"The White Spider" by Heinrich Harrer.
It's about climbing the North face of the Eiger.
It is excellent.

I read the tattooist of auschwitz a few weeks ago & loved it! Didnt realise it was based on a true story xx
Crucible by James Rollins. For me the best thriller writer around.
I've got two kindles one is an E Reader and the other is a pocket computer, can also download books to it.
One of the best books I have ever read on my kindle was “The Nightingale” by Kristin Hannah, I would recommend that everyone read it, beautifully written and such a wonderful story. Not really a man’s book but all you women would love it, it has a 5 star rating. All Kristin Hannah books are good but this was exceptional.
Just finished the Autobiography of Adam Hills (Presents the Paralympic coverage on Channel 4, and also The Last Leg), called Best Foot Forward, and I've just started A Christmas Railway Mystery. It's part of a series by

http://www.edwardmarston.com/colbeck.html

They are set in Victorian times, just as the Railways are starting to expand throughout the country, and the main characters get called all over the country to solve murders.
I'm reading my way through the Wire in the Blood series.
I bought my first eReader, a Sony, long before the Kindle was released and loved it, mainly because I could download eBooks from the public libraries and it made my suitcase so much lighter when I went on holiday.
I now have a backlit Kobo that downloads from the internet, library accounts with 4 different counties and am also signed up to BookBub where I get many free books - some good, some awful but worth a shot. https://landers.bookbub.com/covers/?source=ga_bookbub_exact_uk&region=uk&gclid=CjwKCAiA_P3jBRAqEiwAZyWWaBkwRlEN1xaKH7RPR3PRxt4JUhcHQ7vCSoQlPYxOpidgZM55Fu_eGRoCnPsQAvD_BwE&;utm_expid=.NHMmFHa1SBuOFcwC9GJk6A.0&utm_referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.co.uk%2F
I also buy books from that site, it's a good way to discover new to me authors.
I have also set up an ebook group with friends so we can share and swap books.
I love my Kobo, sits in my pocket beautifully whilst I am out and about.
The 28th Gate: Volume 3

I shall have a look into all your books & add any I fancy to my ever growing list lol. X
One Minute To Midnight by Michael Dobbs. It's about the Cuban missile crisis.

My next book which is waiting on the side is The Nazis: A Warning From History.
Morning tinkerbell,
‘Erubus the story of a ship’ on audio .. Michal Palin. Also .. ‘ The complete Barchester Chronicles’ .. Anthony Trollope also on audio.
For my book reading group I have just finished Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine - great read.
Have also read two books by Ruth Hogan - The Keeper of Lost Things and The Wisdom of Sally Red Shoes. Loved them both so have just started her latest book Queenie Malone's Paradise Hotel. Like her style of writing.
Will have new book from the Reading Group on Thursday so we'll see what turns up there.
Like to keep a note of what other people read so enjoy a thread like this.
In Pursuit by Andrew Nagorski about the capture of WW2 war criminals. A true account of the people who were in charge of the genocide. It was bought for me at Christmas. I must admit I'm not a reader at all. I get bored with books and I've rarely finished one. Some of the facts in this book are already well known, as is the fact that over 90% of the perpetrators got away with murderous attrocities. But I'll try and persevere!
I've been reading a series of whodunits based in Northumberland by LJ Ross, escapist reading! One thing I find about reading my Kindle in bed is that I find it hard to sleep because of the screentime whereas if I read a 'proper' book I have no problems. The other thing I do that annoys me is constantly check things out on the internet as I'm reading, drives me mad yet I still do it.
Kister’s best Encyclopaedias. Very interesting and informative.
James Patterson's Liar Liar, but not really enjoying it !
Have been trying to read 'Milkman' by Anna Burns but just can't get into it! Anyone read it?
That is a book I made a mental note to steer well clear of.
I too love my kindle and read a lot. You may want to check out netgalley where you can get books before they published if you are willing to write a review.
I've read Day of the Accident courtesy of enthralled and it was good.
I'm currently reading Forget My Name.
I have given so many reviews, that I am a honorary member of a certain publisher.
