Oh wow!!
Wow again! That is going to be so fantastic!.....Interesting video...... Bliss.........York and Shakespeare...... :-)
That should be brilliant, we had a Shakespearean theatre company come here once during a festival, I live in a medieval city and they put on Macbeth to the backdrop of the Castle that is a big tourist attraction here, it was spectacular, I went every night they were here, brought my flask of tea and blanket wrapped round me and loved every moment, if you get the chance, go Eleena, it's just fab!
looks good !
I found out about this last week. Wondering how to persuade near-York-living daughter to put us and small, malignant terrier up for the night so we can go to a performance. Not R & J again (spaced-out on that after years of GCSE and Zeffirelli) and almost word-perfect also on Midsummer - rather fancy MacBeth. Problem is that it is high tourist season and York is ***. Probably worth the effort. I'll make enquiries, thanks for the reminder Eleena.
I saw Yeoman of the Guard outdoors at the Tower of London...that was fab ! this should be great...
Corfe Castle - She Stoops To Conquer. Saw that wrapped in rugs with kids. Magic. Rabbits hopped around in the background!
Tricky - it will be a great experience - but for the cost of a trip to York and ticket to this, I could have a premier seat at the RSC and money left for lunch ...
Minty and Jourdain, outdoor theatre is fab isn't it? I'd just love to go to York to see that now
The whole event looks wonderful....free wagon performances and Elizabethan entertainment.....yes it'll be busy and seats seem to be selling quickly for what I'd like to see......

I saw Macbeth during a thunderstorm at Stamford's outdoor theatre....it was wonderful...a flask and a blanket is all you need isn't it, Ducksie..... :-)
It sure is Gness, well, the local media told us bring flask of hot drinks and blankets - it was in the castle grounds so no alcoholic drinks allowed, it was really hot tea in my flask ha seats went so fast but in the build up to it, I booked myself in for every night with a different friends name and got in, I must say, it was free - I just loved it, that was back in the 90's
Just remembered, Ducksie....I take a cushion for my bum.... :-)
That'd be a good idea, I was a great cyclist at the time so cushion was far from my mind at that time - I was a right amber gambler - feared by all motorists locally, cursed by others ha
Cushion for bum is essential
I second that!
So it was you the Guard was warning us about last time we were in your neck of the woods, Ducksie......!
..and a dagger for the hog roast !
well, technically jourdain, you 3rd that ;) gness came up with idea ha
My bum be cushion enough ...
I'd get so lost in the drama I'd forget about bum until it's time to move

gness, if only I had my bike when ye did visit - only a rollator and a silly mobile phone to freak me out and entertain thee
It does say the seats have cushions for these performances
I'll need one for my back jno! It will be a performance just getting there. :)
