Cold Comfort Farm by Stella Gibbons
Don Quixote by Cervantes or if you want something shorter, Love in the time of Cholera by Gabriel Garcia Marquez x
'Under the Greenwood Tree' by Thomas Hardy is a lovely sunny book, but the one I read at least once a year is 'My Family and Other Animals' by Gerald Durrell.

Winnie the Pooh

To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee always lifts me. I think its the girl narrators upbeat appeal rather than the content that makes me feel good.
I have to agree with Cetti, "my family and other animals" by Gerald Durrell is my all time favourite book!!!
Father Frank by Paul Burke

The alchemist, Life of pi, Jonathan livingston seagull.

the alchemist and ...seagull are very short, life of pi is normal length novel but with an exceptionally uplifting ending.
