In any Journal article, the authors are listed in order of contribution. The first author named is usually the main contributor, and, unless otherwise stated, this would be the person to whom you should address correspondence. Generally, journal articles will state the email address of the person to whom correspondence should be addressed.
as above you have to read the paper
there should be enough clues in the authors titles and a placeof research to get an idea

Ideally there should be a star against one authors name and his er, 'corresponding address'

otherwise write thro the editor of the journal

if you have a 'point to make' a sensible one
then I would construct a letter to the editor for inclusion in the ocrrespondence column and then he if he prints it will ask the author to respond

and hey presto ! you have "a letter" to include in your CV !

letters to the editor are usually not accepted six months after the article in question was printed

I hardly ever corresponded privately with an author
but had zillions of letters on my CV !
During the journal submission process, one author must take overall responsibility for the manuscript and correspond with the journal right through the journal’s publication process. This author is called the corresponding author.

All correspondence pertaining to the manuscript is addressed and sent to the corresponding author and he/she is responsible for communicating with the journal, revising the paper, and submitting revisions. The corresponding author is also responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the paper.
